Chapter II: Role and Place of the USA in the Twenty-first Century in the Research of American Political Scientists and Scholars of International Affairs
In this chapter, I summarize the views of some American scholars on the structure of international relations in the twenty-first century, the place and role of the USA in the system of international relations, and ideas about the place and role of Russia in the world. I have no intention of criticizing Americans, though I can’t help adding certain comments of my own. The important thing is to let them speak their minds, so that the reader can judge their views for himself. Please don’t be put off by the abundance of quotes, for I wanted to preserve the authors’ style and avoid glossing over or simplifying their ideas.
